Community Food Drive

During the month of November, we are holding a community
food drive at our store to benefit the Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank! It will
start on Nov. 4th and continue until Nov. 30th. If you bring in a donation you
will get 10% off your purchase!

Items needed: cans of soup, canned fruits and veggies,
canned meat/fish, peanut butter, pasta, rice, protein bars, granola

Reading Era Bookclub

When do we meet?

We meet monthly and on the last Saturday of the month 

5:30 pm - 7 pm in the book shop

What are we reading?

Every month we pair up a book with a Taylor Swift song or album. The selectins we are currently reading are based around the Debut Album

June 28th: Loveboat, Taipei by Abagail Hing Wen / Tim McGraw

August 30th : Tiger Lily by Jodi Lynn Anderson / Our Song

Kiddos Bookclub

Ages 10-12 (Grades 4th-6th)

When do we meet?

We meet monthly and on the 3rd Saturday of the month 

12:30-1:30 in the book shop

What are we reading?

June 20th: How to Train your Dragon ,by Cressida Cowell  **NOTE:  we will be going to see the movie on our meeting day, email us for more details

July 19th:  How to Train Your Dragon book discussion 

August 16th : No Book Selection:  bookish crafting instead!  Happening in the bookshop from 12:30-1:30

September 20th: Who is Lin Manuel-Miranda? (we will be watching Hamilton during our meeting)

October 18th  Ghost in the Headlights, by Lindsey Duga (local author)

November 15th:  Refugee, by Alan Gratz

December:  Yule Ball Celebration, a celebration of all books Harry Potter; Date TBA

Silent Book Club

Join us every third Wednesday of the month at local bar, Pelican to Mars for Silent Book Club! Starts at 6:30 pm to get a drink and spot, silent reading starts at 7pm and ends at 8pm. BYOB (bring your own book)

We currently offer two book club options in the shop and all are welcome! We offer a Children's Book Club and the Reading Era Book Club (a Taylor Swift-Inspired book club).

Fill the Fridge Friday

On Friday, 11/28 from 2 pm to 4 pm we will be holding a 'Fill the Fridge' event to benefit the community fridge at The Red Shoes! We will be making sandwiches to fill the fridge and you can come and help us prep the goods!
