An Evening with Local Author, Liz Williams

Red Stick Reads is thrilled to announce our next author event happening at the shop!! Please join us on the evening of Friday, August 19th as we welcome local author, Elizabeth Williams to share her new book, Nana’s Creole Italian Table.

In addition to authoring several books, Elizabeth Williams is also the founder of the Southern Food and Beverage Museum in New Orleans, and now part of the National Food and Beverage Foundation.  She also hosts a weekly podcast, Tip of the Tongue.

In her newest book, Nana’s Creole Italian Table, Williams blends the two great food traditions in her life:  New Orleans and Sicily.  She has written a cookbook that not only shares some of her families’ traditional Sicilian recipes, but moreover shares her families’ story of immigration and how these recipes changed and evolved as a result of the Creole influences from New Orleans where her family immigrated to.

We are so excited to have Elizabeth come share some of her family stories with us!  We are also encouraging our community to share some of your own family stories of immigration and food as well. We will have some small bites to sample from some of the dishes featured in Nana’s Creole Kitchen Table, as well as water, juice and soft drinks.

So mark your calendars, bring your own bottle of wine, a family story to share and come support one of our wonderful local authors!

Nana’s Creole Kitchen Table is available now at Red Stick Reads! Liz will be signing her book at the event.
